Transforming Lives Through Personalised Care

The King Foundation was founded in 2024 by Sharleen King ACCPA, a dedicated Assistant Practitioner in the community and a 4th‑year Dual Nursing Student in Adult & Mental Health MSc. Her qualifications include Psychology & Counselling (TQUK), Life Coaching, and a Chartered Personal Banker qualification.

Sharleen’s vision is rooted in the belief that true healing begins from within. She recognises the deep connection between physical and mental health, and believes that personalised care empowers individuals to use the strengths, skills, and talents they already possess to achieve better outcomes in their own lives.

The King Foundation is a proud family‑run organisation. Together, the team brings a wide range of skills, qualifications, and lived experiences, creating a supportive environment built on trust, compassion, and genuine understanding. Each member contributes their own unique talents, allowing us to offer a holistic, person‑centred approach to every individual we support.

A Journey of Compassion and Purpose

Sharleen’s inspiration to establish The King Foundation came from her experiences working in the community, where she encountered individuals battling loneliness, depression, and fear. Alongside this, she uses her spare time to learn, research and study. She also coaches young adults and those with learning disabilities to secure job satisfaction and stability. Through her mastery of science, logic, empathy, and understanding, she has helped many service users rediscover their strength, skills & talents.

Supporting Individuals

Over the years, Sharleen has supported countless individuals through challenges such as declining mental or physical health, heartbreak, bereavement, financial pressures, and anxiety. Her approach is rooted in genuine relationship‑building, proven supportive techniques, and consistent, compassionate guidance. She empowers individuals to overcome life’s hurdles, find their voice, and feel truly listened to and understood.

Sharleen’s personal journey reflects resilience, determination, and a lifelong passion for people. At just 11 years old, after moving to a new street, she knocked on every door simply to introduce herself. She quickly formed friendships with elderly neighbours, often visiting them after school for cakes and biscuits. During these visits, she encouraged them to reconnect with their talents — from costume‑making to knitting — and helped bring their creations into school fairs.

Despite facing her own challenges with ADHD, dyslexia, and leaving secondary school without GCSEs, Sharleen held onto one core belief: you become what you feel. As an adult, she worked her way up to managerial roles within the banking industry, dedicating 15 years to her career. Alongside this, she embarked on a social experiment to become a music artist — a journey that went viral and earned praise from Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child) and Stormzy (British Songwriter).

In 2019, after a personal battle with depression, Sharleen made the courageous decision to leave corporate banking and pursue a more meaningful path in healthcare. This turning point led to the creation of The King Foundation, built on four guiding principles:

K – Kindness

I – Inspiring

N – Nurturing

 G – Growth
