The King Foundation was founded in 2024 by Sharleen King ACCPA, a dedicated Assistant Practitioner in the community and a 4th Year Dual Nursing Student of Adult & Mental Health MSc. Her qualifications incudes Psychology & Counselling TQUK, Life Coach & An Chartered Personal Banker Qualification. Sharleen’s vision stems from a profound belief that true healing comes from within. She considers that physical health and mental health are entwined with a significant correlation and personalised care can aid an individual to use their own skills and talents they already attain achieve better health outcomes in their own lives.
Sharleen’s inspiration to establish The King Foundation came from her experiences working in the community, where she encountered individuals battling loneliness, depression, and fear. Alongside this, she uses her spear time to coach young adults and those with learning disabilities secure job satisfaction and stability. Through her mastery of science, logic, empathetic, and understanding, she has helped many service users rediscover their strength and begin their journey to healing.
Supporting Countless Individuals
Over the years, Sharleen has supported countless individuals facing challenges such as mental and physical health declines, heartbreak, loss, financial struggles, and anxiety. Her approach centres on relationship building, proven techniques, and ongoing support to help individuals overcome life’s hurdles.
Sharleen’s personal journey reflects her resilience and determination. Moving into a new street when she was 11 years old, she knocked on each door just to introduce herself. She made friends with the elderlies, often visiting after school for cakes and biscuits. It was there that she was able to get them to use their previous talents of costume making or knitting to bring into the school fairs. Despite her own challenges with ADHD and dyslexia she left secondary school with no GCSE's, however she always believed, you become what you feel.
Later in life she worked her way up to managerial positions in banking industry committing 15 years of her life, alongside this she embarked on a social experiment to become a music artist. She went viral and gained praise from 'Michelle Williams' (Destiny's Child) and 'Stormzy' (British Song Writer). In 2019, following a personal battle with depression, Sharleen decided to leave her corporate banking role and pursue a more meaningful career in healthcare. This pivotal decision led to the creation of "The King Foundation", built on four strong principles:
The King Foundation has grown into a small and dedicated team all trained to NHS standards. All personalised sessions are conducted by qualified trained health workers. These additions allow us to provide holistic care that not only addresses health and well-being but also boosts confidence and self-esteem.
